Vision & Mission
Vision of the Department:
- To acquire fundamental knowledge about biological world in order to make planet Earth more habitable, knowledge about the use of natural resources by human for designing suitable program against the warning of the negative environmental consequences.
- To develop a centre for both training and research in the field of Zoology and allied sciences with special attention to judicious exploration of local resources.
- To understand zoology holistically by “redefining Zoology” to the students so that they develop interest in the subject.
- To develop research programmes that has relevance to the society and employability, i.e., ‘Laboratory to Land’ programme.
- To impart ‘quality education’ in Zoology to the students for introduction of current practices of earning livelihood representing rural and economically weaker sections of people.
- To provide a platform to the students to exhibit their talents and creativity.
Mission of the Department:
- To provide inexpensive educational services, motivate to all the segments of the society to get acquainted with biological sciences especially with animal sciences.
- To develop research aptitude and a scientific advancement in modern tool and techniques.
- To inculcate’ high values’ through, ‘free-thinking’educational platform and also to provide podium to have ‘non-formal’ educational services.
- To bring about consciousness about nature and biodiversity and assist to solve diverse issues to create sound and peaceful environment and life for community and society.
- To provide a broad range of ‘transformed society’through the empowerment of youth.
- To reinvent ourselves in response to the changing demands of society with high moral values as a good citizen.
